Section Assistant

We are looking for section assistants that can support our Beavers (6 – 8 years), Cubs (8 – 10 1/2 years) and Scouts (10 1/2 – 14 years) sections on a regular basis.

Section Assistants are adult volunteers who assist the Section Leaders and Assistant Section Leaders in delivering a balanced programme to young people in Scouting.

This role is perfect for anyone who would like to support section meetings, without the responsibility or training required as a Section Leader. You will get the opportunity to work with Young People and help them learn #skillsforlife

You will get the opportunity to work with our young people directly in order to:

  • Assist in delivering exciting and stimulating activities, challenges and experiences
  • Support young people to express their views and share these with section leaders and assistant section leaders
  • Support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

We want to offer young people the most interesting and diverse experiences possible, that incorporates outdoors, adventure, challenges, greater social responsibility and #SkillsForLife

You will be offered training and a personal learning plan specific to your role. You will also have the opportunity to attend training you find interesting and relevant. Regular support and supervision will be available from our Group Scout Leader and Assistant Group Scout Leader.
